5A02 aluminum sheet belongs to 5 series Al-Mg rust-proof aluminum, with good corrosion resistance, so it is suitable for using in the environment of marine. The magnesium content is low, but it has high plasticity and formability. Its strength can be improved by cold deformation. Beside, the fatigue strength of 5A02 aluminum alloy is outstanding, which is higher than that of 3A21 alloy. In terms of plasticity, it is similar to 3A21 alloy, all has good formability. Similarly, 5A02 aluminum is a non-heat treated alloy, strengthened by cold working. Among them, under the condition of cold work hardening and semi-cold work hardening, the machinability of 5A02 aluminum alloy is good. Under the condition of annealing, the machinability is poor. So, the 5A02 aluminum sheet can be well applied to the manufacture of flange, oil tank, GIS high voltage switch shell, rivet or electrode, etc.
Weldability: 5A02 aluminum sheet has good weldability during resistance welding and atomic hydrogen welding. During argon arc welding, there is a tendency to form crystal cracks.
Plastic: 5A02 aluminum alloy is also capable of turning, milling, boring, planing and other mechanical processing at the maximum speed of most machine tools.
Physical properties: 5A02 aluminum sheet tensile strength σb (MPa)≤147, elongation δ10 (%)≥14.
